The plan cost analysis topics describe how much is spent on each part of the plan. There may be one plan cost analysis topic or one per major section of the plan.
Separate initial costs from ongoing maintenance costs
Include staff time as well as any outside contracts or physical hardware needed
Include maintenance costs for any new hardware
Include costs to do occasional simulation tests of the disaster recovery plan
Link each cost to the section of the plan that requires it
